Vicki and Russell Vaughn of Iola are the lucky winners of a brand-new 2025 Ford F-150 XLT. Dealerships from across the Midwest participated in the raffle; the Vaughns’ entry was one of more than 30,000 received.
Barney Barnett and Blake Appling of Twin Motors handed over the keys to the new owners Friday.
The truck comes stylized with Kansas City Chiefs-themed stickers sure to make it a one-of-a-kind vehicle around town. That’s just fine with Vicki and Russell, huge fans of the team. They’d already installed their Chiefs vanity plate before driving the truck off the lot. “Vicki will get rid of me before she gets rid of those stickers,” Russell said with a smile.
Russell has known Tim Henry, owner of Twin Motors Ford, for decades. “We’ve roped together hundreds of times,” he said, recalling his rodeo days. Vaughn made his living as an electrician after leaving the Air Force and now manages around 500 acres north of Iola.
Vicki, who graduated from Iola High School in 1974, plans to break the truck in quickly; she’s driving it up to Kansas City for an appointment next week. She was excited to win, but not surprised. “I told Russell I was going to win that truck when I entered,” she said with a smile. “I just knew it.”
