Weather postponed a meeting of the Crest Education Foundation by one day, with officers gathering on Feb. 8 at the Colony Community Room.

A workday is planned for Monday at the school for the Read 2 Lead Christmas Book Drive. Members will help get all new books into circulation.

The Lancer decals that were first introduced last fall are still available for purchase, and they will be offered at Senior Night. The decals are also available for purchase at GSSB-Colony Branch. New designs will be available soon. They cost $5 each.

Plans continue for the You’ve Been Flocked fundraiser. New flamingos will increase the number of flocks this year, with new yard signs. Stay tuned for an added twist as the flocks start making their rounds this spring. Weather permitting, the birds will make their debut after spring break.

Plans also continue for the 2nd Annual Co-ed Slow Pitch Softball Tournament this spring. If you or your business is interested in sponsoring the tournament, with your name to be advertised on the tournament T-shirts, please contact a CEF member.

Short and long term goals for the foundation continue to be discussed, with feedback welcome from Crest staff and community members.

The next meeting is at 6 p.m. March 7, in the Colony Community Room. All Crest patrons are welcomed to attend.
