Fight leads to arrest
Allen County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the LaHarpe City Park June 5 after fielding a report of a man fighting with a woman and a baby. The woman was found with an apparent knife wound.
Nathan A.E. Patton, 23, LaHarpe, was arrested for suspicion of aggravated domestic battery and furnishing alcohol to a minor.
Battery and alcohol-related charges will be recommended against a 17-year-old who allegedly pushed down and kicked a witness who had tried to stop the altercation.
Arrests reported
Allen County sheriff’s deputies investigated an apparent hit-and-run crash east of Iola on U.S. 169 Saturday. Aurturo Ortiz-Sanchez, 61, of Nuevo Leon, Mexico, was arrested in Anderson County and booked into Allen County Jail for suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident.
Kristi L. Munoz, 50, Toronto, was arrested Thursday at the Allen County Courthouse for a recovery court warrant.
Deputies were called to a disturbance June 9 in the 200 block of South Elm Street in Moran, where Billy W. Whitman, 72, Mount Vernon, Mo., was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. A related charge of disorderly conduct against another person will be forwarded to the Allen County Attorney’s office to consider separate charges.
Kisha R. Maxwell 46, Grandview, Mo., was arrested June 6 for a warrant alleging no driver’s license, illegal registration, no liability insurance, improper covering of a license plate and speeding.
Deputies arrested Kayla M. Zimmerman, 36, rural Humboldt, June 6 following a disturbance at a residence north of Humboldt. Deputies, assisted by the Humboldt Police Department, arrested Zimmerman after she had reportedly fled to a residence in Humboldt.
Joshua D. Martin, 52, Kansas City, Mo., was arrested June 5 for a warrant alleging aggravated violation of the Offender Registration Act, 11 other violations of the Offender Registration Act and an Anderson County warrant alleging failure to appear in court on charges of burglary, theft and criminal damage to property.
Deputies arrested Thomas A. Andrews, 32, Toronto, June 3 for suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop in Iola.
Hayden T. Matlock, 26, Independence, and Samantha J. Wehmeier, 32, Chanute, were arrested June 3 for probation revocation warrants.
Charges requested after crash
Brodey Silcox told deputies June 3 he hit something in the road and crashed while riding his motorcycle on Old 169 about 3½ miles southwest of Iola.
Silcox, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Allen County Regional Hospital for his injuries. Deputies are requesting charges of driving while suspended, driving without proper licensing, illegal registration and Offender Registration Act through the Allen County Attorney’s office.
