Teen charged for damage to school

ERIE — A teenager accused of causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage by driving a truck into two businesses in St. Paul and Erie High School faces 10 criminal charges, The Parsons Sun reported. Peyton L. White, 16, of St. Paul, faces eight felony charges including multiple counts of burglary, theft and criminal damage, and misdemeanor charges of theft and driving under the influence.

Former Chetopa man charged in 1999 murders

WELCH, OKLA. — Criminal charges in Oklahoma could solve an 18-year-old quadruple murder, according to wire stories and The Parsons Sun. Two of the suspects have died; Warren “Phil” Welch II died in 2007 and David A. Pennington, a longtime Chetopa resident, died in 2015. The third suspect, Ronnie Dean Busick, 66, a former Chetopa resident, is at the Harvey County Jail in Newton. He will face prosecution for the 1999 deaths of Danny and Kathy Freeman and their daughter, Ashley, and her friend, Laura Bible.

Fall River celebrates its oldest resident

Fall River community celebrated the birthday of its oldest citizen April 28. Marguerite (Miller) Russell was born April 30, 1918, on a farm outside Cherokee.
