The Ball Brothers, a popular quartet of gospel-singing brothers who have performed twice in Iola, will return Friday as part of the Southeast Kansas Christian Artists Series.
The Illinois-based group will sing at 7 p.m. at the new First Christian Church building at 1608 Oregon Rd.
Admission is free.
The church is an ideal setting for small concerts, such as Friday’s, because of its intimate setting and state-of-the-art sound system, said Dee Singer, a member of the SEKCAS Board of Directors.
The Ball Brothers concert is the first of the season for SEKCAS, which will have what are essentially two music series.
“We’ll still have our major series at the Bowlus (Fine Arts Center), but now that we have the new church, we can have smaller shows,” Singer, a member of the church, said.
The next SEKCAS performance at the church will be Sept. 25 with the Freedom Singers, a Canadian group whose members escaped from Communist Romania.
