Property taxes will bring in 3 percent less to Allen County coffers compared to a year ago. Its assessed valuation was about $2.75 million less than last year’s approximate $91 million. Most of the loss occurred in personal property, including oil and gas, which dropped $4.1 million and was offset by gains in real estate values and utilities assessments.
Sales tax revenue, however, for the first four months of 2010 fared slightly better compared to last year’s.
