Iola Public Library will offer several programs for adults during June.

Fred Kipp grew up in Piqua and went on to play professional and semi-pro baseball from 1950 to 1964. He is the last surviving person to play for both the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Yankees. He recently wrote a book about his experiences. “Fred Kipp of Piqua: The Last Yankee Dodger” tells about his career. He’ll also sign copies of his book, which are available to purchase at the program. The program is at 7 p.m. June 4.

“Palm Weaving” is at 5 p.m. June 5. Local artist Billy Ray Hayes demonstrates palm weaving while telling stories of his travels. Hayes learned the art of palm weaving in the Hawaiian Islands.
