Iola City Council members will continue their work Monday on shaping the city’s 2026 spending plan.
Council members are slated to hear from department heads whose departments are funded primarily through Iola’s general fund: City Clerk Roxanne Hutton; Police Chief Jared Warner; Street, Allen and Sanitation Superintendent Jason Ellis; Parks and Cemetery Superintendent Robby Drossler; Code Enforcement Officer Gregg Hutton and Assistant City Administrator Corey Schinstock.
Monday’s will be the second such meeting for the Council, who on July 14 heard from superintendents whose budgets rely primarily on enterprise funds.
Afterwards, the Council is expected to set a public hearing date for Aug. 25 for final ratification.
Also on the agenda Monday is a visit from Camille Lavon, the city’s new economic development director through Thrive Allen County.
The 6 p.m. meeting will be in the New Community Building at Riverside Park and is open to the public.
