Iris Lorraine Stanton, 87, of Carthage, Mo., died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, following a sudden illness. 
For several years she was traffic director for KIKS FM and KALN AM radio in Iola.
She was born Feb. 13, 1923, in Carthage, to Oren Ardo and Alma (Oliver) Ralston. She attended Carthage public schools and was a 1940 graduate of Carthage High School. 
On Aug. 30, 1941, she married Sidney Welcome Stanton. He died April 28, 1981.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Carthage, United Methodist Women’s Group, Jeanette Williams Circle and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and Carthage Crosslines.
Survivors include two sons, Lonnie and his wife, Kay, Topeka, and Dr. Stephen and his wife, Janet, Roseburg, Ore.; a sister, Vincil R. Greiner, Carthage; grandchildren, Dr. Kristi and her husband, Dr. James Monica, Boston, Mass., Ben and is wife, Debbie Stanton, New Haven, Conn., and Eileen Stanton, Roseburg; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her personal friend and companion, Bill Haughawout, Carthage.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Knell Mortuary in Carthage. 
Graveside memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Park Cemetery, Carthage. The Rev. James Lee will officiate.
