John Quincy Adams Jr., 92 of Mannford, Okla., and formerly of Kincaid, whose death Monday was published in Tuesday’s Register and funeral services were published in Wednesday’s Regsiter, was born Feb. 15, 1918, to John Quincy and Ada (Rogers) Adams Sr. at their home near Kincaid. 
He attended elementary school at Bellview District No. 79, where he graduated in 1932 with high honors. In the fall of 1932 he started school at Kincaid High School where he participated in many school activities including glee club, school plays and athletics. He graduated from Kincaid High School in 1936.
On Nov. 22, 1940, he married Mae M. Ross in Pittsburg. They spent more than 50 years on a farm near Kincaid. He liked to farm, care for his livestock and participate in community activities. He was also involved in other business ventures during that time including the sales of Pioneer seeds and was an original member of the board of directors of American Investors Life Insurance Company serving from 1965 through 1992 and was also on the board of Amvestors Corporation. He was a member of United Methodist Church and a charter member of Kincaid Lions Club. He served on the Kincaid school board and was an active participant in Kincaid Fair Association for many years.
The couple sold their home and farm near Kincaid in 1998 and moved to Mannford to be close to thier son, Randy, their grandsons and great-grandsons. After his wife’s death Oct. 28, 2005, he moved to an assisted living center in Sand Springs, Okla.
He is survived by a brother, Arliss, Kincaid; his son, Randy and his wife, Gerrie, Mannford; three grandsons, John Adams, Guthrie, Okla., and Craig Torkleson and his wife, Tammy, and Chris Torkleson and his wife, Melissa, Sand Springs; and six great-grandsons.
Three sisters, Pauline Adams, Helen Lally and Enola Coleman, died earlier.
