Judith “Judy” Elaine Petty, 68, Chanute, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Chanute Health Care Center.
She was born in Waverly on Oct. 13, 1942, the daughter of William Houston and Edna (Bonner) Houston. She was graduated from Le Roy High School.
She married Lester Petty on Sept. 5, 1964, in Chanute. He survives of the home.
She was a homemaker and a member of Church of the Nazarene, where she taught Sunday school for several years.
Petty also is survived by a son, Travis, and his wife, Rhonda, Oklahoma City; a granddaughter, Blair Ma-kenzie Petty, Oklahoma City; two grandsons, Grant William Petty and Quentin James Petty, both of Oklahoma City; four sisters, Marcella Trostle, Yates Center, Patsy Cann, Pomona, Barbara Lake, Westphalia, and Billie Gildart, Thayer.
She was preceded in death by a son, Shannon, in August 2009, and a grandson, Garrett Lee Petty.
Funeral services were Saturday at Church of the Nazarene in Chanute. Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials in her name may be made to Church of the Nazarene and left with Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel in Chanute.
