Allen Community College cross country and track and field head coach Vince DeGrado was cleared of a Class A misdemeanor assault charges on Friday.
The charges were pending from a March 3 incident when DeGrado was arrested at the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Lubbock, Texas, after shoving an opposing assistant coach to the ground twice.
DeGrado had maintained the incident occurred only because he and his team had been harassed throughout the tournament by the coach and the shoves came in the defense of one of his runners.
