Allen Co. soccer falls to Johnson Co.

Allen County men’s and women’s soccer took their shows on the road over the weekend and struggled, each falling to Johnson County.
The men fell 5-1 while the women fell 4-1. The men move to 2-2-2 on the season while the women move to 2-4.
The Red Devil men got down early in the first 20 minutes and struggled to get out of an early game funk. In the 55th minute, Juan Carlos Martinez scored an unassisted goal for Allen County’s only points. Xavier Villa played in goal and recorded six saves.
The Lady Devils started strong, taking a 1-0 lead on a goal from Lilly McClellan. Johnson County scored soon after and heading into the half, the game was knotted up at one.
Five minutes into the second half, Destinee Smith received a yellow card and Johnson County scored the final three goals to win the match.
Both teams will be back in action today at home versus Coffeyville.
