After more than a month since their last win, the Allen Red Devils’ slide came to an end following Wednesday’s 3-1 victory over Southeast Community College of Lincoln, Neb.

Thanks to a pair of goals by Red Devils sophomore Bernard Agbavor and a six-save performance by sophomore goalkeeper Race Finley, Allen’s month of futility finally concluded. The Red Devils needed the momentum; Jayhawk Conference foe Kansas City Kansas Community College comes to town Saturday.

Outshooting Southeast 15-1, the Red Devils tied the game 1-1 on a goal from sophomore forward Alex Almede off an assist from sophomore Gonzalo Lopez. Agbavor put Allen in the lead with the first of his two goals off another assist from Lopez, then struck again just before halftime off an assist from sophomore winger Welile Mweli.

With the win, the Red Devils improve to 4-5-2 overall. They remain winless in the Jayhawk Conference at 0-4-1.
