The Kansas High School Athletic Association released the remaining substate tournament brackets outlining the paths of Iola, Humboldt and Yates Center basketball teams.

The Iola Mustangs (10-12) boys basketball enter the postseason as the ninth seed and open the postseason on the road at Osage City Indians (11-12) 6 p.m. Thursday. In their previous encounter during the Ike Cearfoss Memorial Basketball Tournament in Richmond, Osage City defeated Iola 54-37. If the Mustangs advance, they face the winner between first-seed Burlington (18-4) and 16th-seed Prairie View (2-19).

The Iola girls enter their regional tournament as a 12th seed against the Riverton Rams (16-5) at 6 p.m. Friday. They will be without junior forward Zoie Hesse, who will be in Salina at the state wrestling match. If they advance, they face the winner of fourth-seed Girard (16-5) and 13th-seed Osawatomie (6-17).

The Yates Center Wildcats and Humboldt Cubs will compete in the 2A Arma Substate Tournament. Should both teams advance, they will face each other in the substate semifinal with Yates Center hosting the Wednesday, March 3 contest.

The 15th-seed Cubs face second-seed Southeast Lancers (17-6) on the road at 6 p.m. Friday in Cherokee. The seventh-seed Wildcats (12-11) will host the 10th-seed Central Heights Vikings at 6 p.m. Friday. Earlier this month, the Vikings defeated Yates Center 44-38.

The Lady Cubs (8-15) and Wildcats (10-13) will also compete in the Arma regional, but are on opposing sides of the bracket. Ninth-seeded Yates Center faces the eighth-seeded Southeast Lady Lancers (11-11) on the road at 6 p.m. Friday. Last month, Southeast defeated Yates Center 54-30. If the Wildcats advance, they face the winner of Thursday’s third-seed Northeast (18-5) and 14th-seed Erie (6-17) opener Tuesday, March 3.

Humboldt enters the tournament as the 10th seed against seventh-seed Chase County (11-11) at 6 p.m. Thursday. If the Lady Cubs advance, they face the winner of Thursday’s second-seed Eureka (19-2) vs. 15th-seed Oxford (5-16) opener Tuesday, March 3.
