Baseball, football, cross country in action tonight

Iola’s AA American Legion baseball team is back in action tonight after being rained out this weekend in Ottawa.
The Indians will face off against Burlington American Legion AA in the Humboldt Sports Complex at 6 and 8 p.m.
On Thursday night, Iola will play Chanute American Legion AAA, which also takes place in the Humboldt Sports Complex at 6 and 8 p.m.

The Mustangs will hold their first practice of their annual summer training camp tonight at 6 o’clock in Riverside Park.
Coach Doug Kerr, who is entering his fourth season at the helm of the football program, said the practices will last a little more than an hour.
For the first three nights, practices will be at Riverside Park until the team takes its retreat to Greenbush for the next three days.

The Mustangs cross country squad begins its summer practice tonight at 7 in Riverside Park at baseball diamond No. 4.
Coach Marvin Smith said the practices are open to both boys and girls from seventh to 12th grade.
