Cubs and Mustangs face each other and Burlington in dual

Humboldt and Iola met up for the second time this season in the Mustang’s gym for a dual along with Burlington. The Cubs continued to find success in their duals beating Iola 48-24 and Burlington 35-25. 

“It was a good night of wrestling,” Cubs head coach Kent Goodner said. “The hard work these kids continue to put in has paid off again.”  

In the 120-pound class, Clay Shannon won by fall over Burlington. 

Gunner Elder lost Burlington and won over Iola’s C.J. Shields in the 126-pound class.

Josh Vanatta lost in the 132-pound class against Burlington. 

Cheyenne Harris had an open win over both Burlington and Iola in the 138-pound class. 

Ried Barnett won over Burlington’s Jess Hegg and lost versus Iola’s Dillon Reiter in the 145-pound class.

Dagen Goodner beat Burlington’s Tyson Breshears in the 182-pound class

Seth Hegwald beat Burlington’s Malcolm Robertson and Iola’s Drake Sellman in the 195-pound class.

In the 220-pound class, Noah Johnson beat Burlington’s Keegan Mcicrhoff. 

David Watts beat Burlington’s Kenyon Duffy in the 285-pound class. 

Iola lost to 60-6 to Burlington to close out the night. 

Both the Cubs and the Mustangs will wrestle at Fredonia on Saturday.
