ERIE — The Humboldt Cubs volleyball team lost a pair of tough contests on Tuesday in Erie.
They dropped straight-set matches to both Erie and Olathe Metro.
“Our passes let us down early,” Cub coach Terry Meadows said. “We could not get our rhythm together.”
The first set against Olathe Metro was a heart-breaking 25-23 loss for the Cubs and they were unable to rally the troops in the second set, falling 25-13.
Aricah McCall, Lizzie Myers and Tilar Wells each recorded five kills for the Cubs and Annalise Whitcomb had 18 assists.
Erie topped Humboldt 25-20 and 25-21.
Whitcomb led the team with five kills, 14 assists and two blocks.
