Garber goes 2-2 at state

TOPEKA — Andrew Garber, the lone Allen County Kids Wrestling Club’s Mat Warrior to qualify for state, went 2-2  at last weekend’s 2011 USA Kansas Kids Wrestling State Tournament.
Garber competed in the 12-and-under 150-pound division. It was his first state tournament.
Garber defeated Salena Sparks of Emporia Kids 4-1 to open the tournament. He lost 11-2 to Cole Trent of Dodge City Wranglers.
In the consolation bracket, Garber pinned Gavin Overmiller of Smith County. Garber was pinned by Peyton Bendure of East Kansas.
