Iola JV takes third in Waverly

WAVERLY — The Iola junior varsity boys took third place in the Waverly Tournament with a 50-27 win over Anderson County on Saturday.
Guards Cale Barnhart and Blake Ashmore each had 10 points to lead a well-balanced Mustang attack.
Hunter Preston had nine points while Matt Miller added eight.
The Mustangs earned their way into the third-place game with a 64-34 win over Waverly on Monday. Then they dropped a 55-46 game against Wellsville on Thursday when they played without starting point guard Derek Bycroft.
Iola plays again on Tuesday when they host Osawatomie.
