GALESBURG — Humboldt Middle School’s girls evened up their A-team volleyball record Thursday.
The Lady Cubs defeated host Galesburg 25-15, 25-10, 25-22, 26-24. That put their record at 6-6.
“The girls really played hard start to finish,” said Terry Meadows, HMS head coach.
Kasey Beeman served 19 points with seven coming on ace serves. Breanna Kline had 17 points with eight ace serves and Delaney Umholtz had 10 service points with five aces.
Rachael Taylor served eight points, Brittany Smith had four points and one ace. Jaci Ross had one point on an ace serve.
“Delaney did a great job finishing out the second set of the final match, down 24-20 and she served six straight points to close it out.  She handled the pressure very wel1,” Meadows said.
Hannah Hulett had four set assists and Beeman had three. Kline had three kills while ross and Taylor each had two and Beeman had one kill.
Humboldt’s B-team lost 25-19. 25-15 and 25-21, 22-25, 15-13. It is 0-12.
Haylie Yost served seven points and had two ace serves. Wynnter Snyder had four points and one ace while Chole Lhuillier and Cale Schomaker each had four service points.
Jessica Lytle served two aces and had three points. Briana Ames had two service points.
