HMS girls open volleyball season

HUMBOLDT — Humboldt Middle School’s volleyball teams began their seasons Thursday. They lost to Eureka.
In A-team competition, Eureka beat Humboldt 25-23, 25-11 and 25-20, 25-16. Humboldt’s Jaci Ross had 10 points served including six ace serves.
Also for the A-team Breanna Kline served eight points with three aces and Rachael Taylor had six points and three aces. Kasey Beeman served for two points while Delaney Umholtz and Miranda Albert each served up one point.
Eureka defeated Humboldt’s B-team 25-22, 25-21 and 25-22, 23-25, 15-10.
Chloe Lhuillier served for 13 points and had seven ace serves. Caley Schomaker had nine points and two aces and Wynnter Snyder had eight points and two ace serves.
Haylie Yost served up six points, four on ace serves, and Nisha Ingle had six points, two coming on aces. Jessica Lytle had two points, both on ace serves.
“I thought the girls played hard. We know we have some areas to work on, like serving,” said Terry Meadows, HMS volleyball coach.
