The driving distance is back for Tiger Woods, and to fellow golfing legend Tom Watson, that means victory will soon follow.

“I think Tiger is back,” Watson said before the Joe McGuff ALS Golf Classic at LionsGate on Monday. “He’s got his length back and that’s really important. When you lose your length because of soreness, you can’t hit it. That weighs on your mind.”

Woods finished tied for 11th in the Players Championship, shooting rounds of 72-71-65-69 in the event won by Webb Simpson. The 14-time major winner started the week ranked No. 92 in the world and moved to No. 80 with a performance that included a 354-yard drive on the par-4 No. 14 hole on Sunday.
