Lady Cubs thump Altoona-Midway

PLEASANTON — Humboldt High’s girls wasted little time in seizing control of their Pleasanton Midseason Tournament opener Tuesday evening.
The Lady Cubs led Altoona-Midway, 27-2, after one quarter and 45-5 at halftime of a 65-14 victory.
“We had a great night and were able to get everyone on the team some quality playing time,” Lady Cub head coach Sherri Nelson.
Lakota Wilson led the way with a monster game. She had 25 points, seven steals and three rebounds. Tilar Wells followed with nine points, four rebounds and four steals. Kayle Riebel and Anna Whitcomb both scored six points with two assists. Whitcomb also had five rebounds. Madison Keller, Mallory Roush and Morgan Morris each scored four. Kellar also had three steals.
Cara Bartlett scored three, while Delaney Umholtz and Makaylah McCall both scored two. Cheyenne English pulled in a team-high seven rebounds. Bri Ames had three boards.
The Lady Cubs return to action at 4 p.m. Friday against Marmaton Valley in their second and final tournament game.
