Following a successful 2026 run, including a Tri-Valley League title, the Humboldt Lady Cubs received some much needed love from TVL officials during recently selections for the All-TVL Softball Team.
Five of the Lady Cubs’ nine starters received All-TVL selections, including four players selected to the first team, which came on the heels of last week’s playoff exit in the regional championship. 
Senior second baseman Skylar Hottenstein was the only senior to make the All-TVL first team. She gained a reputation for her reliability in the infield and a strong contact hitter in the batter’s box. She finished the season with a .358 batting average with 34 hits, 17 RBIs, five triples and a home run. 
Following a successful season on the mound, junior pitcher Jo Ellison’s selection to the All-TVL team seemed likely well ahead of the postseason. In 17 starts, Ellison boasted an 11-7 record with 133 strikeouts and a 2.8 ERA. She was also successful in the batter’s box with a .360 batting average with nine hits and six RBIs.
