MVHS wins Mid-season Classic

With the second leg of Three Rivers League action getting underway this week, the Marmaton Valley High School Wildcats received a boost in momentum after securing the Yates Center High School Mid-Season Classic Tournament title.

YATES CENTER — A second-quarter 3-point barrage propelled Marmaton Valley High’s boys to a tournament championship Friday.

The Wildcats’ Garrett Morrison scored three times from beyond the arc and Brevyn Campbell once in the period as Marmaton Valley turned a 14-10 deficit into a 35-2 lead over St. Paul.

A balanced scoring attack helped Marmaton Valley keep that advantage in a 64-46 victory in Yates Center’s Midseason Tournament.
