The Iola Recreation Department is hosting an NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Davis athletic fields on South Davis Street.
The competition is open to any child ages 6-15 free of charge.
The competition will run while nearby flag football  games are underway.
Entry forms are available at the rec office or during the competition.
Participants will be divided into five age groups. Individual competition time takes about 15 minutes.
Only soft-sole gym shoes are permitted. No football shoes, cleats or bare feet will be allowed.
Participants are allowed one punt, one pass and one placekick.
Winners will advance to a sectional competition.
As an aside, city officials announced they will close off Davis Street surrounding the fields on Saturdays while flag football games are underway, because of safety concerns.
Motorists are encouraged to use the parking lots at the southwest end of the fields during practices and games. Street parking is discouraged as well because of the narrow thoroughfares.
