Riebel inducted into Kansas Special Olympics Hall of Fame

WICHITA — Steven Riebel, LaHarpe, was inducted  into the Special Olympics Kansas Hall of Fame during opening ceremonies of the Summer Olympic Games on June 2, at Maize South High School in Wichita.
A congratulatory letter to Riebel from Special Olympics Kansas CEO and President John Lair, read:
“You have met the criteria for election into the Hall of Fame and exhibit the high ideals to which all Special Olympics athletes strive.
Day in and day out, you have displayed to everyone your positive attitude, enthusiasm, commitment to training and involvement in a variety of sports training and competition.
Your good citizenship and willingness to encourage your friends on the Independents team, makes you an outstanding person as well as an outstanding athlete. Congratulations. You are most deserving of your election to the Hall of Fame.”
