HUMBOLDT — Rodney Sigg’s patience paid off last Friday at Humboldt Speedway.
Sigg stayed back watching for the right time to get past race leader Justin Folk. Folk led the race most of the time being pushed by John Allen.
Sigg made his move passing Allen and Folk for the lead. Sigg held off both and took the checkered flag in the modified feature race. Allen ended up second with Justin Folk in third followed by Brian Bolin and Justin Johnson.
It was the fourth week of action at the Speedway. Sigg became the fourth different winner in the modified division.
Earlier in the evening, Patrick Kay’s second season of racing in the factory stock yielded his first feature win. He started on the pole and led the race wire-to-wire becoming the fourth winner in as many weeks.
John Rosson ran second with Blake Davis in third place. Scott Lucke was fourth and Colton Bunn took fifth.
Jeremy Willard claimed the victory in the pure stock feature race. Willard held off Roger Oswald, who finished second. Stetson Deets was third followed by Floyd Taggert and Mike Aiello.
From the rear of a 12-car B-Mod feature race field, Jay Lamons Jr. turned in a textbook performance to win the race. Tim VanGotten led the race for a time but had to settle for second.
Nathan Ellison placed third and Dalton Kirk was fourth. Levi McGowen rounded out the top five.
This Friday, the Show Me Series Late Models will run at Humboldt along with the regular classes.
