Area IA programs learned Thursday who they will face at their sub-state tournaments.

After sweeping Chetopa for the final spot in their regional, the Marmaton Valley High School Wildcats enter their sub-state tournament against No. 1 seed Marias Des Cygnes Valley in Melvern.

The Trojans qualified after crushing their regional opponents Hartford 25-12, 25-12 and Wakefield 25-11, 25-4.

If the Wildcats (6-22) upset Marais Des Cygnes (36-2), then they face either No. 2 seed Randolph-Blue Valley (16-22) or St. Paul (11-22).

The Crest Lady Lancers enter their sub-state tournament at Little River as the third seed after sweeping the West Elk Patriots in their regional tournament.

They face No. 2 seed Olpe (21-12), who advanced to sub-state after sweeping a trio of opponents in a four-way regional with victories over Wichita Independent, South Haven and Canton-Galva.

If the Lancers win, then they face either No. 1 seed Little River (33-2) or No. 4 seed Sedan (12-15).

First serve for both sub-state tournaments is 2 p.m.
