Yates Center volleyball hosted their home opener on Tuesday versus Marmaton Valley and Eureka.
The Wildcats swept past Marmaton Valley 25-13 and 25-20 before being swept themselves by the Lady Tornadoes 25-20 and 25-14.
Marmaton Valley also fell to Eureka 25-5 and 25-20. Yates Center junior varsity lost to both Marmaton Valley (25-20, 25-23) and Eureka (15-25, 25-21, 6-15).
Marmaton Valley junior varsity held on to beat Eureka in three sets 6-25, 25-20 and 17-5.
Yates Center will host Cherokee-Southeast, St. Paul and Uniontown next Tuesday while Marmaton Valley hosts Jayhawk-Linn, Oswego and Pleasanton.
