Justin Ray and Janet Nicole Paddock, of Ottawa, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Lauren Nicole Paddock to Matthew Glenn Percy, son of Lynn Loree Madl Percy, of Ottawa, and Mark Tyler and Patrina Percy of Topeka.

Lauren is a graduate of Ottawa High School and will graduate in May 2026 from Kansas State University in Manhattan where she is on the KSU President’s Honor Roll. During school, she was on the honor roll, was a Cyclone of the Week, and grew up heavily involved in sports, especially softball, golf, and track and field.

After her graduation from KSU, Lauren will be working for ME Engineers in Kansas City.

Matthew is an honors graduate of Central Heights High School, Hutchinson Community College, and Park University, attending both colleges on golf scholarships. In high school, he lettered in varsity basketball and golf and was in CHHS Letterman’s Club, on the Principal’s High Honor Roll, was in the KU Honors Program, was named Anderson County Athlete of the Month, and was CHHS Winter Basketball Homecoming Royalty.

At Hutchinson Community College, Matt was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and was a recipient of the HCC Honors Program Graduate Medal. He also earned All Jayhawk Conference First Team Honors for golf and academics and was selected for the Ping All Region Team. His performance at the NJCAA Division 1 Men’s Golf Championships earned him a number of university scholarship offers.

Matt chose to attend Park University on a golf scholarship and majored in business while earning All-Conference American Midwest Conference Honors in golf and academics and the Heart of America Athletic Conference First Team Awards, and was a Kansas Amateur Match Play Medalist and Trophy Winner.

After earning his bachelor’s degree, he was assistant golf coach at Park University and then at Ottawa University. Matt is working for TaylorMade Golf, Adidas, and Walmart and is currently playing on both the Dakotas Golf Tour and the All Pro Tour.

Lauren is the granddaughter of Margaret “Peggy” Irene Call Paddock and the late David Kenneth Paddock. She is the great-granddaughter of the late Raymond Kenneth and Darlene Marjorie Prather Paddock.

Matthew is the grandson of Jeanne Ann Masterson Percy and the late William Glenn “Curly” Percy, and of the late Mary Kay Cook Richie Madl and Harold Madl. He is the great-grandson of the late Frank Loren and Leona May Baker Masterson, Mack Joseph and Pearl Pansy Latimer Percy, and Carl Winford and Ruth Pauline Marie Styx Cook.

The wedding will take place on June 12, 2026, in Lyndon, Kansas, at The Ranch House Venue at 6 p.m. The wedding will fall on the 72nd anniversary of Matt’s paternal grandparents, Glenn and Jeanne Percy, who were married on June 12, 1954, at the First Christian Church in Iola.
