The message on Sunday from Pastor Steve Traw was “God’s Promise.” The scripture reading was “Psalm 119:89-93,” which is the longest chapter in the Bible. Psalm 119 is written to show its beauty and flow by using the Hebrew alphabet at the beginning of each stanza. The verses flow like a poem and are easy to memorize.

When we meet challenges in life, God always gives us ways to overcome them. God is always there as our guide and strength; we just need to be aware of his word. God brings victory when things seem impossible in life.

Rita Sanders was the guest pianist and did a beautiful presentation for all. Several old tunes were sung by the congregation including “Victory in Jesus” and “Rock of Ages.”

This coming Sunday, Aug. 17, will be a fellowship dinner at noon in the Fellowship Hall. Following the dinner is a meeting of the church’s secret sisters.
