Colossians 1:15-23 was the background for Sunday’s service at Carlyle Presbyterian Church.

After the reading, Pastor Steve Traw continued his series of sermons on angels by telling a story.

Pastor Traw said that as a boy he thought it was unfair that girls always got to portray angels and dressed up so fine while boys were always cast as shepherds and wore shabby clothes.

God created tens of thousands of angels and the Pastor thinks we each have our own, no matter the day, to watch over us.

In the Bible, Job (a true believer) talks with God as he struggles. Why me? We sometimes feel that way ourselves. Just like Job, what have we done wrong? God tells us it is a way to work through you. Don’t ask why these things happen but, how can I use them to help?

Dale Thiele sang and played his guitar “Whom Have I But You.” The song is based on the readings of Psalm 73:25-26.

The church’s next session meeting will be held at 5:45 p.m., Tuesday, March 3. This will be held at the Fellowship Hall.
