Iolan April Kroenke is being noted for her photography abilities.
Kroenke, proprietor of April Kroenke Photography, was listed among Senior Style Guide’s “Hot 100” winners for 2022.
Her photo of Iola High School senior Harper Gregg was one of 10 “SOOC” or “Straight Out of Camera” pictures to be listed.
Those types of photos are ones in which the photographer does no editing to the picture after it is shot, Kroenke explained.
Each year, judges representing the style guide sort through thousands of photos to select their favorites from a number of categories, from black-and-white images to those featuring backlighting. In all, 10 photos are picked from each of the 10 categories.
This year’s competition had 12,945 entries from around the world, Kroenke noted.
