If you’re tired of winter, throw your hands in the air and yell, “Hoodie-Hoo!”

Allen County will celebrate its second Annual Hoodie-Hoo Day on Thursday. The local event began last year by the Senior Life Solutions department of Allen County Regional Hospital, which encouraged people to take a break, chase away the winter blues and cheer on the return of spring.

People are encouraged to go outdoors, wave their hands (or a blanket) in the air and yell “Hoodie-Hoo!” Post photos or videos online with the hashtag #AllenCountyHoodieHoo.

The Northern Hemisphere Hoodie-Hoo Day is an actual holiday, developed by Wellcat.com, which posts numerous quirky holidays like “For the Love of Mike Day — Who is Mike and why are we supposed to love him?” on Feb. 22 and “True Confessions Day” on March 15.
