Police vehicle struck
Kathleen Clubine was approaching the stop light at the intersection of State and Madison streets in Iola Wednesday when her foot slipped off the brake, causing her vehicle to rear-end an Iola Police Department vehicle that was stopped, she told Allen County sheriff’s deputies.
There were no injuries.

Iola police officers arrested Chad Smith Friday for suspicion of driving while suspended in the 800 block of East Madison Avenue.
Allen County sheriff’s deputies arrested Bridget M. Braden, 44, Humboldt, on Thursday for suspicion of domestic battery after an incident in the 800 block of Cherokee Street in Humboldt.
Deputies were called to a residence near the Humboldt Speedway Wednesday for a reported domestic altercation. A male had fled the scene, and a female had gone to the emergency room at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute. Following an investigation, Alex C. Son, 29, Humboldt, was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery and criminal damage to property.
Timothy J. Almond, 45, Chanute, was arrested July 21 for a Community Corrections revocation warrant stemming from a drunken-driving charge.
Helen I. Gray, 41, Iola, was arrested by deputies July 21 on three probation revocation warrants.
Iola police officers arrested Chyenne Cully July 21 for a warrant in the 300 block of South Second Street.
Deputies arrested Brandi N. Willard, 46, Iola, July 20 in the 1000 block of South Washington Street in LaHarpe on a warrant out of LaHarpe.
Iola officers arrested John Willard July 20 at the intersection of Spruce and First streets for suspicion of possessing a stimulant, violating offender registration requirements, driving a vehicle without a license and no insurance.
Joshua L. Rowe, 43, Moran, was arrested July 18 for suspicion of driving while suspended, illegal registration and no liability insurance following a traffic stop on U.S. 54 between Gas and LaHarpe July 16, deputies reported.
Shaun C. Bunce, 48, rural Iola, was arrested at a residence east of Iola on U.S. 54 July 15 for suspicion of interfering with law enforcement.
Following an investigation into a harassment report in the 600 block of South McKinley Street in LaHarpe, deputies arrested Chad D. Smith, 36, for suspicion of driving while suspended (second offense or greater) in the 1400 block of South Broadway Street of South Broadway in LaHarpe.
Deputies arrested Shiloh S. Genn, 38, Harrison, Ark., July 14 for a failure-to-appear warrant stemming from a charge of interfering with law enforcement.
