Fireworks damage reported

Deputies were told Aug. 16 a mortar firework had been tossed from a vehicle into a yard just south of LaHarpe, causing damage.

Two suspects were identified. Information was forwarded to the Allen County Attorney’s Office for potential criminal charges.

Domestic incident investigated

Deputies were dispatched to a residence five miles northeast of LaHarpe Aug. 15 for a man in need of assistance. During the investigation, deputies were told a female at the residence committed domestic battery. Information is being submitted to the county attorney’s office.

Illegal fishing draws warning

Deputies gave two individuals trespassing warnings east of Elsmore Aug. 21 after they were spotted illegally fishing.

Hit-and-run reported

An unknown motorist backed into a mailbox, causing some damage, and then left the scene without reporting it, Iola police officers were told.

The incident was reported Aug. 9.

Pizzas stolen

Casey’s General Store told Iola police officers Thursday that a known suspect stole pizzas from the store in the 700 block of East Madison Avenue.

Property found

Iola officers found some missing property in the 400 block of South Sycamore Street Aug. 25.

Cards stolen

Mary Sirota told officers Aug. 24 her driver’s license, Social Security cards and a Vision card had been stolen from the 300 block of South Fourth Street. A suspect was identified.

Minor cited

Officers cited Noah Karr for suspicion of possessing alcohol as a minor in the 1200 block of East Street Aug. 24.

Backpack stolen

Austin Reno reported a stolen backpack Aug. 23 in the 100 block of East Madison Avenue.

Bikes found

Officers found a bicycle Aug. 23 in the 800 block of North Cottonwood Street.

On Aug. 18, officers found a bicycle near McDonald’s in the 300 block of West Madison Avenue.

Vehicle damaged

Jerry Whitworth reported damage to his vehicle Aug. 23 in the 100 block of East Jackson Avenue.

Money reported stolen

Connie Phillips told Iola police officers Aug. 20 about a theft of an undisclosed amount of money from the 10 block of West Madison Avenue. A suspect has been identified.
