Margaret Katherine Apt and Kerry Duane Dickerson were married Oct. 17, 2009, in Carole Chapel on the campus of Washburn University in Topeka. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Janet A. Chubb of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Iola.
The bride is the daughter of Chuck and Mary Apt, Iola, and the groom is the son of Sandra Dickerson, Lee’s Summit, Mo.
Presented in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by her sister, Tyner Apt, as maid of honor. Serving as best man for his brother was Mike Dickerson.
Mrs. Dickerson is a graduate of Iola High School, Pittsburg State University and the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she received a master’s degree in business administration. She is director of marketing for UMKC Athletics, in Kansas City, Mo. Mr. Dickerson is a graduate of Blue Springs High School, Washburn University and Friends University, where he received a master’s degree in business administration. He is an associate director of athletics at Washburn University.
A reception at Capitol Plaza in Topeka followed the ceremony. The couple are at home in Topeka.
