HUMBOLDT — Participants will get to soak up some fun at Saturday’s Water Wars celebration.
The annual event, hosted by A Bolder Humboldt, promises to be wetter and foamier than ever.
The events kick off at 11 a.m. with the annual Water Wars Parade in which parade participants and spectators alike will douse each other with various types of water sprayers.
Water-themed activities follow immediately on Humboldt’s downtown square, with Foam on the Range, slip-and-slides, a water balloon launcher, polar plunge tanks, a feed-the-shark fish toss, bubbletopia and various inflatables.
A watermelon eating contest starts at 12:45.
Events run until 2 p.m.
A nearby Tiki Garden will be set up at the “Life is Fine Plaza,” where participants 21 and older can enjoy frozen cocktails and other libations.
