With operations at the North Pole reaching a critical stage in toy production and “naughty or nice” verifications, Santa’s opportunities to visit Allen County are beginning to dwindle.
Fear not.
Local organizers have set up a few remaining dates for Santa to hear wish lists from area children.
He will be at his temporary quarters on the southeast corner of the Allen County Courthouse square from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and again Dec. 22.
Those waiting in line to visit with Santa are invited to partake of short Molly Trolley rides sponsored by Personal Service Insurance. Hot chocolate also will be served, and parents may take advantage of some down time by paying a visit to downtown merchants staying open late on Thursdays until Christmas.
Those unable to make it to Iola may visit LaHarpe City Hall at 11 a.m. Saturday, where Santa’s visit will be sponsored by the LaHarpe PRIDE Committee.
Later Saturday, the LaHarpe Day Committee will sponsor horse-drawn wagon rides at 6 p.m. Saturday, starting from Angelia’s Cafe in downtown LaHarpe.
