Anna May Works

Another member of “The Greatest Generation” has gone home. Anna Mae Weilert-Works died Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family. Anna Mae was born Sept. 11, 1919 in Chase, to Joseph and Bessie Robinson.
In 1940 she married Dr. John Weilert, and to this union 10 very loved children were born. He preceded her in death in 1985. They moved to Humboldt in 1951, where Anna Mae was a member of the Lions Club, St. Joseph Altar Society, a church organist, served on the Area Agency on Aging Board, belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, Older Americans and area bowling league. She was an avid card player, poet, Royals fan and amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In 1999, she married Jack Works, adding John and Papa Jack to the family. He preceded her in death in 2012.
Anna Mae is survived by her children, Richard and Louise Weilert, Michael and Colleen Weilert, Dr. Stephen and Marlene Weilert, Dr. David and Nancy Weilert, Martha and Michael Heffron, Michael and Barbara Hess, Danny and Cathy Weilert, Bill and Sharon Barton, Phil and Karen Jarred, and Dr. Tim Weilert and Vickie. She leaves behind a sister, Jimmie Powell of Texas, 31 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brothers, Richard and Marlow; brothers David and Wilford Robinson; and sisters, Frances Link and Donnie Beltz.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Humboldt, followed by visiting in the Parish Hall from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m.  Saturday at the church. Interment will follow the service at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Humboldt. Online condolences may be left at:
