Billie Lee Lauber, 84, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010, in Topeka.
He was born March 13, 1926, in Yates Center, the son of Oscar and Dessie (Gillespie) Lauber. He spent his entire life in Woodson County, the majority of that time raising Hereford cattle.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, active in the Woodson County Fair and a member of First Christian Church in Yates Center.
On June 29, 1951, he married Elizabeth Jean Clement in Yates Center. She died Dec. 14, 1993.
He is survived by a son, Gerald W. and his wife, Jerilyn, and a daughter, Janna Lauber, Topeka; grandchildren Nicholas Lauber and his wife, Daphne, and Gina Daley and her husband, Jason; and one great-grandson, all of Kansas City; and his close friend, Thelma Offenbaker, Chanute.
A brother, O.L. “Bub,” died earlier.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Yates Center. Interment will follow in Yates Center Cemetery.
