David M. Beaman, 71, passed away on Dec. 5, 2016, in Iola. He was born to George W. and Ruth Esther (Rogers) Beaman in Moran on March 13, 1945.
David went to Marmaton Valley High school. He received his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Pittsburg State University and his master’s degree in education from Kansas State University. David taught mathematics at Dodge City High school from 1967 to 1999. He also taught photography at Dodge City Community College. David moved to Iola in 2000 to be close to his grandchildren.
David had a passion for his family, photography and computers.
He is survived by his daughters, Mone’t Beaman, Springfield, Mo., and Heather Webber (Richard), Colony; son, Daryl Beaman; grandchildren, Emily and Ian Webber, Colony; three brothers, Charles (Jean), Topeka, Dennis, Spring Hill, and Reed (Sue), Santa Rosa, Calif.; two sisters, Geneva (James) Dixon, Quincy, Ill., and Shirley (Don) Stewart, Springfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
David is preceded in death by his parents, six siblings and son, Michael Beaman.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Moran Cemetery.
