Donald E. Foster, 82, Humboldt, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010.
He was born in Humboldt on July 27, 1928, the son of Charles A. and Holland (Summers) Foster. He attended Humboldt schools.
He was united in marriage to Virginia Lee on July 24, 1947. She preceded him in death on Jan. 24, 2004.
Foster worked for Mon-arch Cement for 43 years until his retirement. He then enjoyed camping and traveling to Mercedes, Texas, where he lived before returning to Humboldt in 2006.
He is survived by a daughter, Gail Lynn Collins and her husband, Mike, Thayer; a son, Bruce Dean and his wife, Shannon, Burleson, Texas; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard and his wife, Ruby, Humboldt.
He also was preceded in death by a son, Cris Allen; and a sister, Pauline Bus-kirk.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Humboldt.
Memorials may be made to Horizon Hospice and left with Penwell-Gabel Humboldt Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.
