Ronald “Ron” Hand, 62, Chanute, passed away Monday, Sept. 4, 2017, in Wichita. Ron was born on March 1, 1955, in Chanute, the son of Alfred Leroy and Oma Lorene (Schlarb) Hand.
He is a graduate of Chanute High School.
On Oct. 4, 1988, Ron married Sandy Weide in Iola.
Ron worked for Consolidated, Cable One and Monarch Cement. He enjoyed restoring motorcycles, woodworking, putting together model cars and reading. Ron loved animals, especially cats and dogs. Ron also enjoyed spending time with his family. Ron was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Club and the Black Powder Club.
Ron is survived by his wife, Sandy, Humboldt; his mother, Lorene Hand; his daughter, Dawne Burchett and husband Jon, Chanute; his brother, Darrell Hand and wife Sandy, Chanute; grandchildren Owen and Grayson Burchett; his niece,Shonda Almond and husband Joe; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Hand; son, Justin Hand; brothers, Wayne Hand and Gary Hand; and nephew, Chad Hand.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Leanna Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.
