Crest’s freshman standout was recently voted Allen Area Athlete of the Month for September just before competing for a chance at a state title during Saturday’s sub-state meet in Cheney.

All eyes will be on Lady Lancer Lynnex Allen at Saturday’s sub-state cross country race in Cheney.

Allen, who was voted the Iola Register’s Allen County Female Athlete of the Month, is a freshman at Crest High School and most recently became the queen of the Three Rivers League with a title run last Thursday.

“The first meet is always a little nerve-racking,” Allen said of the sport. “Now, I’m good. I’ll find my pace and just go with it.”
