High School Baseball: Humboldt 17, Lebo 1; Humboldt 12, Lebo 0

The Humboldt baseball team continues to look unstoppable after ending last weekend with a sweep at Lebo.

The Cubs won the first game 17-1 in six innings and the second 12-0 in five innings. With the win, the Cubs’ record moves to 15-1 overall. They’ve won seven-straight.

In game one, the Cubs got out to an early 5-0 lead in the first three innings before Lebo plated their lone run in the bottom of the fourth.

Humboldt added a run in the top of the fifth before closing the game out in a big way with 11 runs in the top of the sixth.

Despite the burst, the Cubs had only four hits in the inning. By comparison, they were walked five times and two batters were hit by a pitch.

Sophomore starter Jackson Aikins got the win pitching all six innings. He allowed just one run on five hits and six walks with nine strikeouts.

Josh Hull hauled in four hits and three RBIs and Aikins, Dagen Goodner and Lance Daniels each had two-hit games.

The Cubs looked just as sharp in game two.

Humboldt scored in every inning, starting with a run in the top of the first, three in the second, two in the third, five in the fourth and one in the fifth.

The 12-run lead after five innings was enough to trigger the run-rule.

Wyatt Seufert got the start and the win, allowing four hits and one walk with three strikeouts.

Cooper Jaro and Daniels each had three hits and three RBIs while Goodner gabbed another two hits for himself in game two.

The Cubs will travel to Erie on Thursday after beating the Red Devils 17-2 and 18-3 earlier this season.
