GIRARD — The Humboldt Cubs and Lady Cubs continue nearing a sub 20-minute 5K while competing at the Girard Invitational Thursday.
Hot off a strong track and field campaign last spring, Humboldt sophomore Aspen Wimsett had the highest finish of all Humboldt varsity runners while posting her first top 20 finish of the season. Wimsett took 20th after clearing the 5K course in 25 minutes, 4 seconds, nearly a minute faster than at last week’s Coach Howarter Invitational in Garnett.
