Iola High basketball squads ready to resume play

The Iola High basketball program last played Dec. 17 before going on winter break.
But both the Mustangs and Fillies have their eyes set on their return to action starting Tuesday when they travel to Garnett in order to take on the Anderson County Bulldogs.
With less than a week until the second half of the season kicks off, Fillies coach Becky Carlson and Mustangs coach Jay Applegate  are each hoping their respective teams will shake off the holiday rust and start picking up some much needed momentum.
The Iola High boys and girls teams ended 2015 on a sour note with each squad losing to Prairie View at home. So Tuesday’s road matchup with the Bulldogs gives both the Mustangs and Fillies an opportunity to flip the script and start the new year on the right foot.
Check out how Iola High’s basketball program has fared thus far in the season below.
